MOSQUITOES ……….

On a number of accounts last summer, I tried an application to help with mosquitoes and the feedback that I got back on the services performed was all positive. I now plan on offering the spraying as an addition to the regular pest control service upon request. The active ingredient is the same as the product that is used for the quarterly service inside the home, yet at half the strength. One of the traits of cypermethrin is that it has a strong repellency action and by applying it to the areas where mosquitoes hide during the day seems to greatly reduce the activity around the yard. Though the strength is half of what is used for the interior, the amount used will be greater, treating such areas around the house that are shady and humid. Planting areas along the fence lines, sides of the structure, ground covers, etc.., but the volume will still be less than what might be used to spray a yard for fleas. It seems to be effective 30-60 days, but this may be determined on weather conditions and the general mosquito population in the individual neighborhoods to begin with. The average additional charge will be $45 for a one time treatment at the time of the quarterly service or $65 to have an additional yard treatment scheduled for about 45 days into the service. Of course for small lots or over sized lots the price may vary. And if you decide to try it between quarterly services a pro rated figure will be determined for the price. Though there is no true "warranty" with this service for re-treatments, I expect you to have some relief for about 30 days and if after a couple of weeks you feel the service isn’t working you would be credited on your next quarterly service or refunded the additional money paid.

If the service works well and you have a neighbor who may want to try it the cost for the service alone for a non existing customer is an initial charge of $165 which consists of two treatments 30 days apart or $190 for 3 treatments, the second treatment being done 30 days later the third being done 60 days later and monthly treatments there after would be $55 as wanted through out the mosquito season.
